He accomplished his master degree in Master of Science in 2003 in the field of community nutrition under the supervision of Assoc. Prof Dr. Rokiah Mohd Yusuf, Prof Dr. Asmah Rahmat and Dr. Mohd Nasir Mohd Taib at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia and was honoured with the degree in 2006. He had received numerous awards throughout his studies, to name a few were the MARA Scholarship and Research Fellowship Award from the Heart Foundation of Malaysia in 2004 and 2006. Later, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Management & Science University (MSU) starting from 2006 until 2008.
In 2009, he furthered his studies at the PhD level in the Food Chemistry field (Functional Food and Nutraceuticals) at the Faculty of Food Technology, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) under the supervision of Prof Dr. Che Abdullah Abu Bakar and Prof Dr. Abdul Manaf Ali. While embarking into his PhD journey, he obtained multiple awards, including best oral and poster presenter at the Conference on Wellness 2010 and Seminars on Functional Food 2012 respectively. He has also successfully published five manuscripts in high impact international research journals based on the findings from his PhD research projects. He is now working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and tremendously active in applying grants to conduct research for the benefit of humanity.
